- Box cutter or scissors (carefully)

Step-by-step setup
Step 1: Position the box near the bed frame
The compressed mattress is heavy (60-100+ lbs for a queen). Move the box close to where you’ll set it up before opening.
Step 2: Open the outer box
Cut along the seam with a box cutter — be careful not to cut into the vacuum-sealed plastic underneath.
Step 3: Place the rolled mattress on the bed frame
Position it with the head/foot orientation correct. The mattress will expand in both length and width.
Step 4: Cut the plastic wrapping
Cut the inner plastic gently. Once you cut, the mattress will start expanding immediately — work fast.
Step 5: Unfold and let expand
The mattress will inflate to 80-90% of full size in 1-2 hours. Full expansion takes 24-72 hours.
Step 6: Wait before sleeping (optional but recommended)
Most brands say you can sleep on it immediately, but waiting 4-6 hours after unboxing gives best initial comfort.
